The Erie Canal Town Museum is in this tiny little house. You’d never know the vast treasures filling the rooms. This was a delightful visit, and the museum curator made it all the more wonderful.

Utica Lunatic Asylum

This is our personal visit to the magnificent and foreboding Utica Lunatic Asylum in Utica, NY. It’s grandiose style is stunning. We strolled the grounds and snapped photos. Learn about the history and it’s current state of disrepair. Maybe someday the Old Main will be renewed.

Hamilton, Smith, and the Turning Stone Casino

My daughter and I were honored to attend the first annual colloquium sponsored by the Alexander Hamilton Institute of Clinton, NY. The banquet and speeches were held at the illustrious Turning Stone Casino, run by the Oneida Indian Nation. It was a AMAZING experience.

The Shako:wi Cultural Center is the wonderful (and free) museum run by the Oneida Indian Nation. What a great place to visit! It was quite an educational experience.

New York State Museum and Empire Plaza in Albany

We spent an entire day here and didn’t stay nearly long enough! What an absolute blast! And it’s all free admission! The New York State Museum showcases everything New York, from the Iroquois to fossils to 9/11 to the Jazz Age. A great place to visit!
