The kids and I have been spending more time indoors, with the cold, rainy weather we’ve had for the past week. They’ve been sick with sore throats and colds, so I’ve been scrambling to find them things to do. Autumn is such a nice time because I can cook soups and bake bread for them, and of course, it’s football season, which I love.
We spent some time together watching online sports videos of the Olympics. We don’t get television, so we didn’t see them when they broadcasted. It was kind of difficult, finding sports clips! I came across one cool site specializing in sports videos, called SportsVids, the total sports video network. What a fun site! They have some good videos covering all sports, including my favorite sport- gymnastics. I grew up watching Nadia Comaneci and Olga Korbut, and oh how I wanted to be a great gymnast! I used to be able to flip off the balance beam just like they did, believe it or not! So watching videos really brings it all back. Wow, do I feel old, lol.
Here’s an up-and-coming new gymnast from Texas. Her style reminds me a little of Olga Korbut.

At the site, you can upload your own sports videos, too, of your own sports event or of a sports vid you’ve seen that takes you back down memory lane. The website has a category for sports bloopers, which I’m waiting to be filled. I love sports bloopers!
