I’ve found some unique blogs recently, even some New York State blogs! I wonder which state of the United States has the most active bloggers. New York State must be up near the top ten, perhaps even the top five. I find a lot of New York blogs (most of them are from the city [...]
I think StumbleUpon has got some heavy competition from the new and popular Entrecards. My blog traffic is not nearly as high with Entrecards and SU, but I have seen a dramatic SU slowdown hits and many more Entrecard hits. I assume that people are so busy dropping their ECs that Stumbling is forgotten.
Entrecards [...]
Thanks to Entrecards, I have discovered several more very interesting travel blogs of late. Many of the blogs I’ve come across have outstanding photographs. The Official Site of the Eiffel Tower was fun to explore. There are flash scripts, enabling you to see the sights of Paris from the top of the tower (free of [...]
I’m delving into the world of travel blog carnivals. I have had fun participating in carnivals (history, curiosities, cities, and homeschooling), but I have never done an actual travel carnival. That is strange, since I run two travel blogs! One of my favorite new travel blogs, Less Than a Shoestring (all about budget travel! my [...]
My youngest son, Sniffy, was so excited after our tour through the Observer-Dispatch in Utica, that he wrote an essay about it. He is actually a very good writer for such a young lad. I think I may use his guest post writing services again. His delightful essay is here, in raw, unedited form. [...]
Remember how I’d said I often have dreams of visiting Greece? Someday I shall. It is one of my life’s goals. In my dreams I am on top of a small, rocky hilltop near the coast. I look down and see clumps of scrubby brush and grasses, clinging to the hillside and bending down as [...]
I have two trips to put together and blog about, but I am sitting here at my desk, procrastinating. A day-long car trip always tuckers us out. I’m sitting like a lump, sipping my old coffee (I woke up late this morning), and staring at the screen, hoping I get the energy and ambition to [...]
I am a member of BlogRush, a social network of blogs. (See the widget in my sidebar, toward the bottom of the page). I like the widget. It is one of those networks that 1) has a good goal– to promote blogs because they are good blogs, and 2) to increase one’s traffic to one’s [...]

I’ve been slowly building up my New York Travel Map which is a visually-aided archive of all our travels. We’ve been to dozens and dozens of places in New York State. Using my map is an easier way to sift through the archives. Of course, there is a handy search feature I’ve included in the [...]
I’ve been surfing more travel blogs recently and have detected a pattern: uber-aggressive marketing. I’m a little surprised at how aggressive some blogs are with it. Oh sure, I am 100% in favor of making money from blogs, but I will add that the emphasis should be on good writing or good photography– good content– [...]
I am slowly building up my New York Travel map. I encourage you to check it out from time to time, as it will be the best resource for my travels and for finding information on great places to visit in New York State.
I am in the process of adding a ton of information. [...]
