It's really great that the state is promoting all Upstate has to offer along the Canal.

When I was a kid, we boated down the Canal and through the locks... perhaps in Lockport or thereabouts. It was a pretty neat experience. I hope to take my kids to Erie Canal Village in Rome this summer!

I love the old sections of the Erie canal that are left. Get to the locks in Lockport if you get the chance. I also like to travel through Medina. Every June we have Canal Days in Phoenix for the students to learn more about the old days on the Oswego canal. I'm looking forward to the guide as I don't know enough about the eastern end of the canal.
