Find Those Secret Gems of Travel!

As those of you who read my blog will know, we are travelers that prefer the “off the beaten path” kind of trips. New York State and New York City are filled with quirky, eccentric, and secret places to travel. I love visiting these places! Problem is, finding such places is a little difficult; and there don’t seem to be many travel guides out there to help.
Well, who needs travel guides, anyway? Not when you have John and Paula Conway and their Secret Spots & Hidden Gems! This is such a fun website. They have written some articles and made some videos of trips to various cities, visiting the “secret gems” of various little-known and well-known places. The video the Conways did for New York City was very well-done, and when I go again to Manhattan, I MUST VISIT the Chelsea Market and the National Historic Site at 92 Orchard Street!
Check out the site– it’s full of fun videos, has a great guide of confidential cities and secret spots, a page of travel games (that’s a nice feature!), and more. You can sign up to get emails of perks, presents, discounts, and news. I’ll definitely be keeping the Conway Confidential in mind when we visit the major cities in the U.S. I hope they are able to visit some Upstate New York cities, too– we’re the DEFINITION of quirky up here!

Welcome to New York Traveler.net. It was created for the purpose of telling the stories of our travels all over New York State.

I always thought of the best gift of travel was cultural exchange, and that would mean leaving the state, and the country. The world is still much more segregated than we care to admit, and probably will be for the rest of our lives. Why not go out and spread and take in as many ideas as you can, after all, only a small potion of the developed world has the privilege and drive to travel. It’s our responsibility to make those walls just a little bit more porous.
