Mrs. Mecomber on August 6th, 2008

It’s that time of year again for the Mecomber family: buy new boots and shoes for the kids. EVERY July– I don’t know what it is– they all bust out of their shoes. I try to make the shoes last until September, when school starts, but it is futile. We’re on our feet a lot, working in the yard here at home or hiking a forest trail, or walking through the museums. The kids are really into the Wild West right now, so the hot thing around here are children’s cowboy boots. The kids saw some cute ones when we visited the Rockwell Museum of Western Art, and were smitten. Unfortunately, cowboys boots are not terribly practical here in Upstate New York, but they do make nice birthday presents. :D Prices at Cavendar’s are outstanding, too. My sister has a slew of kids who love Western-style boots and gear, so I’m putting the bug in her ear, too. Check out Cavendar’s; their prices are excellent and they offer free ground shipping for sales over $50.
