We’ve heard about it and seen it in the movies, now it’s available for everyone. It’s GPS tracking, and it’s from LiveViewGPS. It enables you to track your vehicle, person, or asset 24/7 in real-time. Businesses will probably find this the most beneficial, but the service is offered to individuals, too (monitor your teen driver, your laptop, etc). It’s quite sophisticated, actually. Using a small “black box” placed in what you want to track, the positional data from this device is transmitted and picked up by the Global Positioning Satellite, which then transits this data to a computer or cell phone. A person can even receive automated cell phone alerts to detect the position. Pretty amazing. Like everything, man will find a way to use technology for evil, so unfortunately. However, used in the right way, this could make, for example, a trucking industry much more efficient, or, for example, help a police chief know where his officers are located at all times.
