Looking for a good cause to support? Have you heard of the Sears Heroes at Home Wish Registry? It’s a really nice program, launched on Veterans’ Day earlier this month, and is sponsored by Sears for the purpose of helping our veterans and military families during the holiday season. The Sears Heroes at Home Wish Registry allows us to purchase gift cards to be distributed to the families of veterans and servicemen/servicewomen who are currently serving in our military overseas, or experiencing hard times. You can buy the gift cards online or at your local Sears store. It’s very easy to do. This program is part of a network of non-profit organizations who are reaching out to families for the holidays.
If you check out the Sears.com website, you can see what’s needed by our servicemen and women, and read testimonies of how this outreach has helped them. Donations made to the Sears Heroes at Home Wish Registry are not tax-deductible, as the program involves the purchasing of gift cards. Gift cards are equally distributed to the families registered in the program. So basically, you don’t “get” anything out of this except the real blessing that comes when you freely give unto others! Check out the site and please consider giving to a needy family this holiday season.
