The weather in Upstate New York has been absolutely FREEZING! Well, maybe not freezing, but pretty close! Mid-40s is pretty close! Too cold for camping yet. We were hoping to get one last trip in before September school lessons begin, but it’s so cold that camping would be uncomfortable. So we’ll wait for the Indian Summer, which usually comes in a few weeks.

Until then, we are homebodies, trying to get some yard projects finished up, and spending some quiet time together. We’ve been trying out a few new games. One of them is the adorable Disney Bingo game. My older kids are a little too mature for Disney (although they still love Toy Story, Nemo, and the old Jungle Book!), but my younger ones liked the game. And we all love Bingo. This is a really cute little game. I think it would be played best with a company of kids– of all ages. The big kids could help the little ones with the pieces, and everyone could have a fun time. This kind of game is perfect for family holiday get-togethers, when you have a mix of kids and age levels.

My youngest played with the DVD that came with the game. He thought the DVD was too cutesy, but he liked the Bingo game itself. The cards have very colorful Disney characters, and you match the characters with their colors and numbers with the DVD announcement. My son liked the short Disney movie clips that appeared every once in a while (for example, the short clip of Thumper and Bambi from the original 1930s movie. The quality was excellent).

The game is constructed well, and the box that holds all the contents is very sturdy. It comes with a velcro closure and a small plastic handle, which is perfect for traveling. If your car or minivan has a DVD player in it, the kids could play this game on long car trips and would LOVE it.

I recommend the Disney Bingo game for its portability, solid construction, and its ability to be a very versatile game. Like I said, this is the perfect game when you have a houseful of relatives and their kids over for Thanksgiving dinner. It’s a great game to keep the kids happy with constructive play, and kids of all ages could play it well together. You could even make up a contest with the games, where winners get little prizes. See how versatile it is?
