Syracuse’s traditional end-of-the-year lights festival looks good: The Lights on the Lake is a two-mile drive down the Onondaga Park highway, showcasing elaborate displays in beautiful lights. I have a faint recollection of seeing it as a child, I think. Or maybe it was on television. Anyway, I know my kids would enjoy it. We will be out that way later in the week, so maybe we’ll stop by. I’ll have to practice taking photographs at night in preparation! I’d love to see the “Delightful Victorian Village” and arches. You can even drive through light-encased tunnels!

The display is going on now, until January 6th. After that, the electricity bills are due!
