New York Traveler is joining the Photo Hunter ranks hosted by Daisy the Curly Cat. This week’s theme is high. I have a lot of “high” photos, but here are my favorites:
Here’s the view of my Manhattan apartment, when I lived on Lexington Street in the late 1980s. This is a view of “Little India.” Read more about my adventure.
Here we are, high on a hill in Cherry Valley, NY. That’s a view of the Cobleskill Valley below. Read about our visit to the Cherry Valley Gorge here.
Here we are, high at the top of Chittenango Falls. I am looking down the waterfall in this photo. I am leaning up against a rail to take the shot. It was scary but fun! Hm, maybe I should give some thought to term insurance if I am going to live so dangerously, eh? It was a lovely visit. Read all about our journey here.
I guess I like waterfalls. I didn’t realize how many photos of various waterfalls I had! Here’s Trenton Falls. The water is just a trickle because we had no real rain this past summer. No rain for a summer doesn’t necessarily mean a drought as in other states, because New York State has a LOT of water, rain or no rain. Read about our visit here.
The skyscrapers of New York are pretty high, but the Adirondacks are the highest things in New York State. Here we are, trying to climb Buck Mountain in the Adirondacks. We didn’t make it up because it got too dark. Read all about our adventure here!
I have many more “high” photographs but couldn’t possibly post them all! If you want to see more photographs of our travels, go to my Flickr Page where all our travels are nicely organized.
Update: I’ve joined Photo Hunters! It is so much fun! Click the button to see the list of participants and their posts.

I am glad you played Photo Hunters; it’s lots of fun! Every week is a good challenge to find a photo for the theme. But I cannot take credit for it, I am just a participant. If you leave your link in the comments at wwwDOTtnchickDOTcom other Photo Hunters can find your entry and visit, too. You have lots of great “high” photos. I think my very favorite is Trenton Falls. It looks very beautiful there.

Gregorio, I did know that about the Adirondacks– isn’t that hilarious!!! Those Iroquois were real gut-busters. Ha!
That road in my photo is of Route 9, going up to Ticonderoga from Lake George. It is a beautiful area to drive– very scenic– but my son and I got terribly carsick after coasting all those curves!
If you click the link to our travel there (in the body of the post) you will see many more pretty pictures I took.
