Photo Hunters: Blue

Blue is today’s theme! Oh my goodness, where do I begin?
This is my favorite kind of blue. I just love finding New York historic markers wherever we travel. I always try to stop to read them. But if I happen to miss one, I can always check online! The NYS Museum has a site dedicated to New York’s historic markers, organized by county. Check it out here if you want.
The next photo is not blue, but it made me FEEL blue this week! We had snow and BRRRR it was cold. I like winter, though, despite how cold it gets up here.
Which reminds me– I probably won’t be seeing any blue hydrangeas until July next year. *sob* That makes me feel mighty blue, in a sad way.
Lake Oneida in central NY is so blue. I’d read that bodies of water are blue because they reflect the color of the sky. So, if the sky was purple, then the bodies of water would be purple?
One of the most stunning vistas of blue and green was when we visited Fort Ontario, off the Great Lake, Ontario. I’d never before seen such a brilliant blue sky. The lush green grass made it sparkle like a jewel. You can read about our trip and see more brilliant photos here.
Finally, this is my darling kitten, Olivia. She had bright blue eyes as a baby, but her eyes are starting to change color. I hope they retain some of their blue color!
Just a little note to all the folks who visited my Photo Hunters last week– I didn’t get much of a chance to visit your blogs to see your photos last week, but I intend on clicking your links to see them this week! Thanks for dropping by!
How did your Photo Hunt go today?

A great selection of blues there! I love hydrangeas, but that’s a gorgeous little kitten whatever colour eyes she has.

I just love “Hydrangeas”. We call them “Hortensias” in Argentina.

I am also a HUGE fan of Hydrangeas. They are beautiful!

You found some excellent *blue* pictures. I don’t think I can pick a favorite among yours. The snow picture made me glad I’m on the Gulf here in Texas. Our coldest temp has been 39o and that had me hunting a jacket. I’m so out of the habit of dealing with snow. Stay warm and safe this winter.

My first thought after seeing your “blue” historical marker is that, gee we only have brown markers here in Illinois. So I googled Illinois markers and surprise we have some that color too. They must not be in the northern part of our state.
Snow = blue. Your photo evokes a “blue” feeling – my snowy picture I hope evokes a happier feeling. Come visit if you have the chance.

Love all the blue! I wish my hydrangeas would flower in blue, mine insist on flowering in a strange green colour.

LOVED your photos. I posted a flower too, but the shot I had of blue hydrangeas wasn’t crisp and clear, so I went with another. How did you get such a good shot? We talked about them in photo class, they are hard to photograph well. I loved all the photos, I am a NY girl too. Your kitty is beautiful, whatever color her eyes turn out to be.
This was my first PhotoHunt and I had a blast.

What stunning pictures, especially Fort Ontario and the hydrangeas. That snow picture reminded me of how much I like to live in Texas – were sitting at 80 degrees right now! That’s my kind of weather!
Feel free to stop by. My picture is pure blue!

What a wonderful collection of blue shots! I’d be hard pressed to pick a favorite from among them. Blue signs, blue water, blue skies, blue flowers, blue eyes… WOW

Some lovely choices here. Since I am from Massachusetts, I can tell you that I do not miss snow a single bit, but those gorgeous blue hydrangea are among my favorite garden shrubs!

Wow I know I was here last week. I distinctly remember making a comment about the snow. I do not know why my comment is not showing and why I am not on the list.
But, I didn’t want you to think that I had forgotten about you!!
