Photo Hunters: Colorful
August 16, 2008 by Mrs. Mecomber
I can think of so many wonderfully colorful things, but the first thing that comes to mind is my lovely flower garden. Everything is finally in full bloom, and I am in my glory! Here are some photos I took for my other blog– but the gardens are so beautiful I thought I’d post them here. I just never get tired of looking at my gardens!
Here is a bloom from my coffee-fed Nikko Blue Hydrangea.
Here are my Stargazer Oriental Lilies. I love them so much.
Here’s a photo of one of the flower beds.
Ahhhhh. I love gardens!
How did your Photo Hunt go today?

That’s a beautiful plant and a great shot.
That Hydrangea looks great. I imagine the coffee keeps it blue, but how do you keep it so healthy? Mine has been limping along from year to year barely staying alive.

I love hydrangas. Nothing prettier.

I envy you your flowers. I have a limited few, having had feasting in my garden by deer, rabbits, and armadillos. I think there are other things that go bump in the night as well, but I don’t go out and look.

They’re all gorgeous, but I’m a goner for those lilies!
Margy Lutz on Sat, 16th Aug 2008 12:43 pm
Thank you for visiting my colourful flag post. Your flowers are certainly colourful as well. I see you are from Upstate New York. My husband was born and raised in Rome, but we now live in Coastal BC. He swore he wouldn’t live anywhere there was snow ever again, but here we are. At least our snow only lasts a few days before it melts. Much less shoveling. – Margy
RJ Flamingo on Sat, 16th Aug 2008 12:44 pm
I love all of yours – flowers are my all-time favorites! If you have the time, take a look at my early July orchid photos in my archives for some of mine.

Beautiful! I’ve never been overly successful with hydrangeas, but my mother’s were jaw-droppers. We feed our roses coffee grounds… when we can get them. No coffee drinkers here. 8-]

Your flowers and garden are lovely! The hydrangea is just beautiful!
I’m growing hydrangea for the first time this year and mine is supposed to be pink but the blooms are coming out half pink/ half blue … very strange looking but still pretty in an odd sort of way. Guess I’ll have to decide which color I want and amend my soil.
Lori V. (doyourealize) on Sat, 16th Aug 2008 3:17 pm
Lovely. Just stunning. Stargazers are one of my favorites, too, with their heavy, saturated, sweet smell.
