This was probably the most difficult topic I have ever encountered at Photo Hunters. It left me stumped! I finally decidied to go with a few photos, but with the majority of them, you might think the topic was “cats” or something! I have a lot of photos of cats sleeping and lazing around!
Here’s a photo we took of the lions at the Rosamond-Gifford Zoo in Syracuse. I was hoping to see them pacing and prowling and growling, but all they did was LAY THERE. What boring lions! You can read more about our visit to the zoo here.
This is a photo of our cat, Fuzzy. HE is LAZY. He also has this “lion complex” where he sometimes growls and prowls. But he doesn’t scare us. We know he’s just a big ol’ scaredy cat inside.
My new kitten, Livvy, wants to follow in the footsteps of her cat cousins. When she is tired, she just plops down and snores. Isn’t she adorable, though?
And just so you don’t think I’m totally biased, here’s our dog, Lazy. I mean, DAISY. Well, actually, she’s both. She wouldn’t even lift her head for the photo!
Finally, plants can be lazy, too. Just look at this English Ivy. LAZY LAZY LAZY! I’ve been coaxing it for years to cllimb up the arbor trellis like the other ivys, but noooo… it crawls around on the ground. Oh well.
How did your Photo Hunt go today?

Those are some really great photos! Livvy looks so cute and fuzzy; I like how her furs are standing straight up.
October 11th, 2008 at 6:13 am
Those are some great entries for today’s Photo Hunt! We like the photo of Fuzzy.. he looks so comfortable! Have a great weekend all of you!
October 11th, 2008 at 10:18 am
perhaps if you try singing to the ivy, it’ll get moving:)
October 11th, 2008 at 10:20 am
Livvy has such lovely fur. Both your pets are too cute.
Happy weekend!
October 11th, 2008 at 10:35 am
*Y-a-w-n* All those sleeping “kitties” (and doggie) made me sleepy! LOL! Great photos. I did one of our dog, talk about lazy!
Here’s mine
October 11th, 2008 at 10:36 am
Oh yes, cats take lazy to a new level of lazy. And you last photo made me smile - I’ve never thought of a plant as lazy but you right - the least it could do is grow up where you want it.
Nice job on The Hunt. Happy Weekend.
October 11th, 2008 at 10:53 am
Wonderful contributions to the theme this week! I might disagree on the English Ivy, though. I’ve got the #&%*2 stuff growing up the side of my house. When its not lazy…its aggressive! Have a great weekend!
October 11th, 2008 at 10:55 am
Cats have raised laziness to an art form! I love the way kittens seem to fall unconscious - nothing would waken them
October 11th, 2008 at 10:56 am
Those kitties are just too cute!
I played too
October 11th, 2008 at 10:57 am
I think you misunderstand them, they are not lazy they are strongly meditating about something very important, lol !
October 11th, 2008 at 10:58 am
My brother is a bit like your cat Livvy, he’ll pass out anywhere.
Thanks for stopping by mine.
October 11th, 2008 at 11:02 am
For someone who claims to have been stumped for a time by this week’s Photo Hunt theme, you sure came up with a lot of photos for it at the end! ;b
October 11th, 2008 at 11:08 am
Big cats and house cats — both varieties seem equally lazy.
Great choice of photos. I found this week difficult also.
Enjoy the weekend.
October 11th, 2008 at 11:09 am
Oh I think you did a terrific job. And Livvy is so adorable. I am getting a new kitty hopefully in a few weeks and I am sure everyone will get tired of seeing him.
I found this one hard also. I thought it would be easy. But my oh my so many of you were so creative.
Great entry and I always love visiting here!!:-)
October 11th, 2008 at 11:16 am
I wonder if those lions would be so lazy in the wild. Have we just spoiled them? Since our house cats are lazy, maybe it is just a feline trait…..

I concluded a long time ago that your pet’s job is to take a nap.
October 11th, 2008 at 11:35 am
Okay… now let me warn you about Ivy… it will fool you and just laze around, but when it decides to move… look out… we cannot get rid of the stuff around here.. and to think it started out in a cute little planter I bought.. then moved to a larger planter… finally put just a little piece in the ground to grow up a post .. (which it did… then it ran up the tree and over the azaela bushes and on and on…. You have a bunch of lazy pictures… Good Picks for today’s theme!
October 11th, 2008 at 11:36 am
Oh what a lovely lazy post! Cats do LAZY better than anything I know, and I agree that plants can be lazy too - I have a rosemary bush in my ‘herb garden’ that will not grow like a proper shrub and just lies around lazily like a ground-cover plant!
October 11th, 2008 at 11:38 am
Awww, cute shots. Now pls excuse me , I need a nap
October 11th, 2008 at 11:40 am
Oh dear, I think I must have a lie down.
October 11th, 2008 at 11:45 am

October 11th, 2008 at 11:47 am
Your cats are adorable! I love cats! They sure can get lazy when they want to, huh?
Thanks for dropping by my site! Happy weekend!
October 11th, 2008 at 11:50 am
Be it a lion or a moggy it’s wonderful how all cats are masters of laziness! I know what you mean about ivy too! Happy weekend

No matter what their size, cats are truly the kings of lazy!
October 11th, 2008 at 12:38 pm
Lazy Daisy..ha ha, so cute. And I could just snuggle that kitten to death. I miss my cats being kittens..sigh.

October 11th, 2008 at 1:00 pm
Love your lazy animals! I’ve had them, too - cats and dogs. I can even relate to the plant - I have a clematis that will not climb for anything!
Thanks for stopping by and commenting on mine.

October 11th, 2008 at 1:34 pm
Thanks for all your comments!! Yeah, once I got going, I guess I found a whole lot of photos.
Today has not been a lazy day for me. I have visited every person (so far) who has participated in PH and left their link at TNChick’s site– that’s 187 blogs!!
Time for a nap…
October 11th, 2008 at 1:35 pm
Sleeping kitties are THE picuture of lazy. I don’t know how they sleep SOOOO much.
Id’ never thought of plants being lazy, but I guess the ones that lay down all the time are. Hmmm…does that mean that climbing vines are super industrious? -smile-
Thanks for stopping by and taking time to comment on my photo hunt.
October 11th, 2008 at 1:35 pm
Great sequence of shots.
The lazy cats are so cute!
October 11th, 2008 at 1:57 pm
Yup … I had trouble with this one too until I thought of ‘critter’ photos while creating my Camera Critters post this morning … so I did a ‘double-duty’ post at Small Reflections rather than sharing at Sacred Ruminations as I usually do. I LOVE the wonderful ‘lazy’ photos you’ve shared here today because they each made me smile big time!
Hugs and blessings,
October 11th, 2008 at 2:07 pm
I enjoyed your sequence of shots for lazy. I had to laugh about the lazy ivy staying on the ground instead of climbing.
October 11th, 2008 at 2:13 pm
Nice pictures I liked the big cats but you little one is pretty sweet too. Happy Saturday & thanks for visiting me.
October 11th, 2008 at 2:28 pm

Thanks for visiting mine and have a wonderful lazy weekend!
October 11th, 2008 at 2:47 pm
Those big cats can lay around all day it seems. I think the little ones lay around and dream about being one of the big ones.
Nice take on the theme.

October 16th, 2008 at 4:13 am
