Prepare for Summer Camp Now

Hey remember how I’d earlier said that I wasn’t minding the snow, the ice, the bitter cold? Scratch that. BRRRR! I got completely chilled while out with the kids this afternoon. Today the snow has been piling up, and we’ll probably see 10 inches when all is said and done. So I’m cuddled up in my blanket, trying to get back to normal body temperature, lol.
As outrageous as it sounds, right now, while the snow is swirling and the winter winds are whipping, is a good time to be researching summer camps for the kids. I know it’s difficult to even think about roasting marshmallows over a campfire, or swimming in the swimming hole, but looking for a NY Summer Camp and making reservations and arrangements is worth it now.
Camp Kresge, a 1,100 acre camp, is preparing for the next summer camp season. Camp Kresge is south of Wilkes-Barre in Pennsylvania, a very short distance from New York’s southern border. I used to live in the general area of New York here (the Southern Tier) and the scenery is just stunning. There are millions of outdoorsy things to do in the area. Camp Kresge is part of the YMCA’s camping facility and retreat center. They have dozens of activities, for the kids but also for the adventurous adults. I do want to take the kids to something like this someday. Camp Kresge promises families a “hassle-free, fun, and relaxing” time– that sounds good to me! Check out the new website at CampKresge.com for more information.
