Spectacular Aquariums

I just LOVE aquariums. I’ve only been to three in my whole life, but I could see them all, and spend weeks and weeks in an aquarium! I love sea life and water. Zoos are boring to me, but aquariums are so spectacular!

It’s no surprise that I discovered some very unique aquariums, online. WOW. I have GOT to see some of these places someday.

The largest aquarium in the world is the Georgia Aquarium, in Atlanta, Georgia. It has more than 8 million US gallons of marine and fresh water housing more than 100,000 animals. The aquarium’s notable specimens include four young whale sharks, three beluga whales and two manta rays. Woooooooooooooooooooow! I wanna go I wanna go!! I would do just as these kids are doing.

Then there’s the Aquadom in Berlin, Germany. It’s the, uh, largest aquarium that is a dome. (But I wonder if it is the ONLY aquairum that is a dome?) It has about 2,600 fish of 56 species. Two full-time divers daily clean the tank and feed the fish. Wow, what a job.

This next aquarium is a real one, yes! It’s in France and was featured in Woman’s Day online:

Believe it or not, this phone booth is real. Constructed for the 2007 Lyon Light Festival in France by artists Benoît Deseille and Benedetto Bufalino, the piece was intended to combine a phone booth and aquarium to create a unique way to house exotic fish. And here are some quirky aquariums I found. I just love these!!

Fascinating post. Thanks for sharing. I love taking my granddaughter to an aquarium. There’s a big one in Bournemouth, not far from my home.

I love the sink and coffee table, but I’d sure hate to clean them

Wow. Those fish in the first photo are HUGE. I love the more creative ones too, but the Ipod looking one appears to have a dead fish in it. lol

I went to the Georgia Aquarium for my birthday two years ago. I loved it. The Beluga whales were my favorite. They were attempting to mate at the time (not the reason they were my fave), and the little kids who didn’t understand why the male kept knocking into the female & missing thought it was the funniest thing ever.

A word of advice if you go: get there early. It’s crowded even in February but still worth it. Also buy your tickets online. You’ll get a discount and you won’t have to wait in two different lines.
