I love this guy’s art! He’s Nathan Sawaya and he does some amazing things with LEGO bricks. I did a post on him on my other blog, Freaky Frugalite.

Sawaya is touring the U.S. and he’s making a stop in Rochester, NY, at the Strong National Museum of Play. The exhibit is called the Art of the Brick. This is from I Love NY:

Sawaya, who has been featured on CBS’s Late Show with David Letterman, NBC’s Today Show, and the Discovery Channel’s MythBusters also builds custom pieces including work he did for Donald Trump’s new hotel in Dubai.

The Art of the Brick exhibit is a prelude to, and complements, an upcoming children’s exhibit, LEGO® Castle Adventure, which opens Saturday, January 23, 2010. Sawaya will be at Strong National Museum of Play on Saturday, January 23 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. to provide museum guests with an interactive art experience.

The Art of the Brick remains on view through March 14, 2010 and is included with general museum admission fees.

The Strong National Museum of Play is the only one of its kind, “devoted solely to the study of play as it illuminates American culture.” I’d LOVE to see it, and hope to, when we get out to Rochester sometime. See the museum website for more details.

Hi Mrs Mecomber. THanks for dropping by my site. As I am too busy, didnt participate in PH this week. Probably next week too. Hope you did see 2012 movie. Yes, you are absolutely right, Hollywood doesn’t really cares about the real bible, I agree with you 100%.

Wow, this guy create the human sculpture from LEGO? How amazing it is. Sometimes, human people are so wonderful when God has create them with such talents, isnt it?

You have a nice day now. Cheers. CY.

Those are awesome! It hurts my brain thinking about how complex those sculptures are and how long it would take to make them. I wonder if he does commissions? I think I need a giant lego robot at my house =]
