Good Deals on Concert Tickets

I love concerts. But I do not like concert ticket prices. :-p Toooo expensive. B.B. King came into town a few months ago, but retail tickets were $50 a pop! Ouch! Needless to say, we spent the night at home, listening to CDs! I wish I’d known to check online for better prices. I would also love to go to a Delirious concert– you guys in the United Kingdom know this group– Delirious is from the UK and UKers have told me that their concerts are the best ever. Their music is just FABULOUS! *\o/* They have a sound a lot like U2 (Martin Smith sounds a lot like Bono when he sings).
If you live in Europe and need some great tickets– or want to sell tickets– check out GETMEIN.com. Love the name. Currently, U2 tickets are selling like hotcakes, as the saying goes. The group has a new album out at last, and are touring the UK for 2009. Check out the site for great deals!
The Young Christians’ Weekend

I used to love going to concerts and weekend trips as a young Christian! They were so much fun, and it was very encouraging to meet new people from all across the U.S. and the world. One of my favorite conventions was hearing guest speaker Dave Roever, ever hear of him? He was a Vietnam vet, terribly wounded in battle. Watching Dave get through the ordeal by trusting in Jesus under very extreme circumstances, several of his fellow soldiers (who had once mocked him and God) became believers. His testimony is amazing. And he is such a funny guy– he likes to say that he “plays by ear,” which means that he removed his prosthetic ear and bangs it on the piano keys. It was a great experience for a young person.
If you’re looking for a family-friendly weekend of a lifetime, there’s the Young Christian’s Weekend at Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri, on March 27-29, 2009. The luxurious Hilton Promenade at Branson Landing is opening its doors with some special packages for families that weekend. The event looks fabulous! Hands and Feet Serving Hearts and Souls is the theme of this year’s Young Christians’ Weekend at Branson’s largest theme park. Featured bands include Kutlass, Leeland, DownHere!, and others. There’s an “extreme freestyle motocross” event planned, as well as guest speakers like Christian athlete from the American Gladiator show Tim Oliphant, also author Joe White, and comedian The Skinny Improv will be there. Plus, a glorious Sunday Worship Service is planned, too. (And who knows, the guys from the group Leeland just may get their hair cut! … haha, that’s wishful thinking, I know).
The HIlton Branson Convention Center Hotel is one of the largest and most luxurious centers in the Midwest, and they seem to host the greatest events! Check out the links for more information and ticket prices. This looks to be like a terrific event for the entire family.

Springtime Events at Branson

Spring is *almost* here! After a bittery cold January and a snowy and bland February, spring will be an extremely welcome sight this year. The herald of spring always brings with it a reinvigorated interest in sports. And no one does sports like the folks at the Hilton Promenade at Branson Landing and the HIlton Branson Convention Center Hotel. Two exciting events are happening in Missouri: the NAIA Division II Men’s Basketball Tournament for March 11-19, 2009, and the Walmart FLW Bass Tournament for March 12-15, 2009. The luxurious Branson convention center and resort are gearing up for one of its busiest spring seasons– so if you want to be there for all the action, check the links for availablity and prices. Branson has some special packages going on right now for these events. And this area of Missouri, with its museums, lovely lakes and parks, outdoor activities, theme parks, golf courses, and cultural centers, are sure to please everyone in the family.
Besides the sports events, the month of March holds some excellent activities: Kenneth and Gloria Copeland at Faith Life Church; the Titanic Salutes the Irish at the Titanic Museum; the 13th Annual Branson Tri-Lakes Building and Home Show in early March; the Young Christians’ Weekend; The American Presidents Museum presents Lincoln in Kentucky; and loads more! Check out the site http://www.bransontourismcenter.com for more details on these, and the HIlton Branson Convention Center Hotel site for accommodations.
