Photo Hunters: Shoes

Today’s photo hunt had me floored for a while. Get it? Floored? YUK YUK YUK YUK!!
OK, well, I was mighty stumped. Had NO IDEA what to do. I’m not a “shoe” person, either. My husband had to drag me to a shoe store recently and forced me to buy sneakers, because I only had a pair of worn-out 8-year old hiking boots and some tattered sandals. He bought me a nice pair of walking sneakers.
What a sweety.
So… everyone is taking photos of their closets crammed with shoes… and I had no ideas. Until I remembered that the kids and I had gone to the Children’s Museum in Utica, NY, and there we had seen some very, very old shoes! Get a load of these!
Can you guess what they are? They are “mukluks.” These Eskimo boots were made from walrus skin. They must be very warm. They are very old. Also in the case, you can see some reproduction moccasin shoes. Click the photo for a larger view.
Our visit to the Children’s Museum was an absolute BLAST! We saw millions of things new and old. We got to play with things, handle things, and explore how things work.
The kids obviously had a good time.
My young son got to play a real piano for the first time! (He uses an electronic keyboard at home). I am so proud of him!
