On the Wild Side: a Wildwood Vacation

Hey, the Morey’s Piers website has been updated! It looks really great, very intuitive and interactive. I visited Morey’s Piers in New Jersey when I lived in Philadelphia– we’d take the drive up to Wildwood, NJ, to enjoy the gorgeous beach and the great boardwalk there. My favorite things to do were to walk along the ocean shore, looking for crabs and jellyfish that had washed up, and to see all the vendors’ booths and shops. My friend liked the rollercoasters, but…. well, she had a better stomach than me. :S

Anyway, Morey’s Piers is a really great place to take the family. They’ve been family owned and operated since 1969! So they know a good time. They are hosting another Radio Disney Summer Concert this season– it’s free to attend and it’s big with the kids– and that will continue on until August. The Morey’s Piers site is loaded with information, not just on their own attractions, but they also have a good listing of Wildwood new jersey motels , local restaurants, waterparks, events, admissions, hours, ticket purchases, lots more.

Remember– FREE is good, especially when you have kids! Why pay more than you have to? Check out the summer events and especially the Radio Disney concerts. And check out Morey’s Piers for reliable info on staying and having a great time in New Jersey. The ocean is GORGEOUS so if you can go, DO IT!

Summertime in New Jersey

Well, if you’ve tired of New York (haha!) and want to see the sea, try going across the way to New Jersey. I’ve been to Wildwood at the beach, at Morey’s Piers, and it’s a blast! Wildwood vacations by the shore are very popular with the city-dwellers from New York City, Philadelphia, and Jersey City. When I attended school in Manhattan, we popped over to Morey’s Piers for some time at the beach, sight-seeing, and to check out the boardwalks and New Jersey amusement parks there.

Morey’s Piers is having a summer special season again– Radio Disney Summer Concert Series from June to August. The concerts are free! Many of the top Radio Disney music artists perform. It’s a great way to get away on a family-friendly (not to mention free) mini-vacation there. Check out the website for more information on concert venues, times, tourist information, and helpful stuff like nearby hotels, restaurants, and other places to visit.

New Jersey is Cool

Need a break from New York (and New York taxes)? Check out this website for spectacular deals on a Jersey Shore beach vacation. It’s the renowned Morey’s Piers. They are probably the best organized, most family-friendly, and funnest place to visit on the New Jersey shore. I visited Wildwood years ago– what a blast I had! I just love visiting the shores on the Atlantic Ocean, it’s so exciting. Morey’s Piers has everything– water parks, amusement rides, group events (like Radio Disney concerts, birthday parties, events for Boy Scouts and Brownies), accommodations, and loads more. Plus, there’s the lovely beach shore to enjoy with the family.

Right now is actually a terrific time to enjoy the beach shore- the summer crowds are gone and holiday package deals are exceptional. Morey’s Piers has a discount special on season passes for 2009, and a holidya deal going on now, too. The sale on the Season Pass deal runs through January 9– save nearly 40% to both waterparks. This is THE time to get tickets and find deals for northeastern travel excursions. Morey’s Piers is well-known for its quality amusements and family-friendly attractions. Plus, they are the online hub for finding good and reliable hotels and motels for the New Jersey area. If a beach vacation is in your future, now or in 2009, check out the Morey’s Piers website and grab your deals now.

When NY Isn’t Enough

New York State has some very lovely lake-side beaches, but the only “real” beach (ocean front) is on Long Island. Long Island is so heavily populated and so difficult to navigate that New Yorkers often go elsewhere for an Atlantic Ocean experience. Some folks go all the way down south, but there are some lovely beaches not too far from us: in neighboring New Jersey.

And the nice thing about New Jersey is that the state has made good use of the coastline, and has developed some of the most beautiful beaches ever. New Jersey beaches are perfect places for the perfect vacation. I’ve enjoyed Cape May and Wildwood areas, and I loved the boardwalks and resorts in Wildwood NJ. Morey’s Piers is a really fun place. I visited it when I was living in Philadelphia (a short drive from the city). It’s a family-friendly place with something for everyone! If you’d like more information, check out their website, and look for discounts, specials, and events. It’s also a great site to look for hotels, resorts, ticket prices, food, group events (including educational programs) and more. Or, check out the beautiful beaches that are open and all the things you can do there. I just loved walking the beach line, scavenging for seashells and finding little turtles and jellyfish. There is so much you can do and a family beach vacation is a wonderful way to enjoy it!

Free Radio Disney Concerts in New Jersey!

I apologize to my fellow patriotic New Yorkers, by now mentioning something going on in neighboring New Jersey. Heh heh. But I wish New York State would do stuff like this! There are definitely some neat things to do in New Jersey, and it’s even better when the events are free. Here’s the scoop:

On July 7th, 14th and 21st — Magic Mondays — Radio Disney’s hottest musical artists will appear live on Morey’s Piers, a favorite New Jersey vacation hotspot.

These FREE concerts will take place at the Radio Disney stage next to the Giant Ferris Wheel on Morey’s Mariner’s Landing pier. Show times are scheduled for 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.

Free concerts will be held each Monday for the first three Mondays in July. Scheduled to appear are:

The Radio Disney Summer Concert Series finale is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, July 26, 2008 at the Wildwoods Convention Center Oceanfront Arena with Raven-Symone from the Disney Channel’s ‘That’s so Raven’ and the currently playing Walt Disney movie, ‘College Road Trip’ starring Martin Lawrence and Raven-Symone. The July 26th concert will also feature Mitchel Musso from the Disney Channel Original Series ‘Hannah Montana.’

I visited Wildwood, New Jersey, many years ago. What a beautiful area! There are always many specialty Wildwood events for vacationers there. I love the ocean no matter where I go, and the area around Morey’s Pier is so beautiful. There are also some deals for Cape May hotels, if you are from out of the area.

I think it’s great that organizations are offering free events for budget-minded travelers! Check out the details if you are interested.
