Photo Hunters: Unique or Funny Signs

Today’s Photo Hunters scavenger hunt is Unique or Funny Signs. The first thing I thought of was an old sign I remember seeing when I used to drive to work. I had to drive through some very old “shanty town” kinds of hamlets. One little area had a “convenience” store (this was before they were called “convenience” stores, before they had gas pumps, phones, and even electricity. This place was OLD. I think by “convenience” it meant they had farm tools and snacks). Well, anyway, outside of this very old gray building was a sign that said, “BEER MILK PROPANE.” LOL, I always got a kick out of it! Need to wet yer whistle? Take yer pick!
I never got a photo of that place (it was also before anyone had invented “convenient” digital cameras). I’ll bet the place is still standing, though! Well, here is a photo of a funny sign we saw when we drove through part of the Adirondacks. You can read about our trip here.
Someone had scrubbed out the “G.” The sign is supposed to say “Cookingham Rd.” We thought it hilarious that it now says “Cookin Ham”! And it looks like the sign has been there a long time! New York State seems to be in no hurry to replace it! :-p They should check their luxury watches and get going on a timely fix. At any rate, it makes great fodder for traveling bloggers, lol!
How was your Photo Hunt today? Leave your link in the comments! (Sometimes Akismet spam filter kicks in and I have to manually approve the posts. But don’t sorry– I will!)
P.S. That’s my traveling van’s antenna topper you see there.
