I’ve been tagged for another meme by Theresa at her very pithy blogA Bumpy Path. I’ve done this meme at my other travel blog and also at my home improvement blog. So that would make a grand total of 21 things about me after this! But I like Theresa and I always appreciate a nod in my direction, so here we go again!
Hmmm 7 things, 7 things….
1. There are 62 counties in New York State. I have lived in 21 of them. I have traveled to about 50 of them (at last count).
2. History is my hobby. I specialize in early American history (pre-1820) but I also love ancient civilization studies.
3. I was a B student in school. It wasn’t until I started homeschooling my kids that I really got an education.
4. I have read the Bible completely through about three times. I’m working on my fourth.
5. I haven’t read a fiction book since… gosh, since 1992! However, I have read “historical novels.” Does that count?
6. I love disaster movies, Twister, Poseidon Adventure, The Day After, etc.
7. I love wind chimes. My grandmother had a big collection of them, so maybe that’s why I like them so much. When she died, I only got three of the cheapest ones.
So there you go! Now you know all about Mrs. Mecomber!
I’m going to be conservative with my tagging here, as I’ve tagged several folks in the past recently. I do want to tag Carole of Carole’s Thoughtful Spot. Heh heh. And Ellen at All in a Day if she can find the time, Kathy at Brazocowgirl, and Anajz at The Sustainable Backyard. Please feel under no obligation to do the meme if you’d rather not, though. Have fun, ladies! ![]()

Mrs. M, I was born there in NY, Johnson City, raised in Conklin, and finally left for good in 2004. I do NOT miss the snow! Have you seen the NYC reservoirs around Delhi? They are beautiful!
Getting the nod back is greatly appreciated!

Howdy, Sandier Pastures. Cute name. Yep.
Theresa– I am amazed by the number of people I am meeting online who used to be from NY. I think I know more people who left NY than people who are still here! I love the snow– it’s the politicians I hate. And pithy means, “consisting of or abounding in pith.” Hahahahahah! OK OK, it ALSO means having the ability to make your point clear and concise.
