I am not originally from New York and do have to agree that parts of the state are beautiful…my appreciation of this state is that it has a slower pace of life and allows me to spend time with my family on a daily basis.
The only thing I don’t like about this state is the weather, I hear people say they love all “four seasons” but in the eight years I have been here I have not seen these four seasons as of yet.
The summers are to short and winters are horrible…Ugh!

I had similar thoughts while driving north along he lake today. Most of upstate is beautiful and a great place to raise a family.

Yeah. I love the Mohawk Valley, too. It’s home, and despite the fact that taxes are better in other areas, government restrictions are not as crass and demanding, and despite the fact that we have some of the worst public officials in the country (IMHO), I would never prefer to live anywhere else.

This is home, and I am thankful that God has placed me here, upon the land inhabited by my early American ancestors.
