I adore tulips. I love them more than roses, which are so fussy. Tulips are big, waxy, brilliant globes of color! They are worth it to grow. Here’s a tip– when you’ve dug the hole for the bulbs, toss in a little bone meal before you plug in the bulbs. They love it!
Here in California it’s already the heat of the dry season (yesterday topped out at 105*!) and things are dying accordingly. After spending the previous 3 years in Chicago and enjoying spring, it’s hard to re-adjust myself to the two-season shuffle of California again. Thanks for the beautiful pictures!
Thanks for your comments! Yes, things are really looking greener now! FINALLY! But guess what? We’ve got snow forecast for tonight! AUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGH!

Like most New Yorkers, I have a lot to say about a lot of things in a short period of time.

I love seeing all of the tulips! I missed mine terribly this year. I’m going to have to plant bulbs this fall so I’ll have my own again next year.

I will admit that I do miss that part of the country around this time of the year. I also love fall around there too.
