The Best Time of the Year

Isn’t it a glorious season?

Oh, it’s not here yet, not quite. But I am anticipating its arrival with great eagerness. It’s been a long, hot, busy summer.

Autumn Repose

I realize it’s autumn when the crazy summer activities start to trickle away….

…when the trees exhale their leaves — slowly at first but then in wheelbarrow-fuls.

…when the air turns crispy-cool, a welcome change after the steamy heat of summer.

It’s been a very busy summer and I am looking forward to autumn! We do some our best traveling this season, too. I have a few trips planned for the Adirondacks, which is simply breath-taking in autumn. I can’t wait!

What is your favorite season?

This is my entry in‘s “Capture the Season.” Are you playing along? Leave a link to your post in the comments — I’d love to visit!

About the Author

I've been traveling throughout New York State since I got the travel bug after touring the Herkimer Home on a school field trip as a youngster. We've been blogging about our travels since 2006 and have visited over half of New York's 62 counties so far.

  2. Beautiful image. Where was this taken? I love autumn, it’s my favourite time of year – the only downfall is that it’s followed by winter!
